SERVICES
Senior Fitness Training
Staying active is crucial for mental and physical health, particularly as we age.
Corrective Exercises
As the years pass, posture deteriorates, and misalignment of the shoulders,
spine, hips, knees, and feet can occur. I assess clients' posture, joint mobility,
and movement quality, and develop personalized corrective exercise programs
to correct imbalances. Addressing muscle imbalances and faulty movement
patterns improves movement quality, reduces injury risk, and
optimizes performance.
“ Straighten before strengthening.”
Balance Training
Balance decreases with age due to multiple factors, including loss of muscle
strength and flexibility, age-related changes in the vestibular system, and
sensory systems, and the impact of chronic conditions and medications.
The customized balance training programs I provide can improve stability,
reduce the risk of falls, and maintain functional mobility among clients.
Mobility/ Flexibility
Following a personalized mobility training program can improve compromised
mobility, even among individuals with arthritis, osteoporosis, balance, and
coordination issues, and reduced hearing and eyesight. Many seniors lose
mobility because they're nervous about moving around when they
cannot see and hear well.
Muscles and bones naturally deteriorate with age, leading to decreased
flexibility. With consistent effort, flexibility can improve even in very stiff
clients who follow my customized stretching and myofascial release programs.
Remember to listen to your body and avoid pushing into pain.
Strength Training
Strength training offers numerous benefits for older adults, including increased
muscle mass and strength, improved balance and coordination, reduced risk
of falls, and enhanced overall function and quality of life. Strength training can
also help manage chronic conditions, improve cognitive function, and protect
joints from injury.
Two weekly sessions are what it takes to increase muscle mass and strength.
Cardiovascular Fitness
Cardio can be fun! I offer access to joint-friendly cardiovascular training
equipment, including recumbent bikes, stationary bikes, ellipticals,
rowing machines, and treadmills with cushioned decks.
Personalized cardiovascular training offers numerous benefits as you age,
including improved heart health, increased mobility, and a reduced risk of
chronic diseases. It can also help maintain a healthy weight, enhance cognitive
function, increase lung capacity, and overall endurance, and reduce the risk
of heart disease, stroke, and other cardiovascular issues.
